Four years ago, I attempted to self-publish my first novels, the three books in The Legend of Light (originally titled The Luminous Legend).
It did not go well.
One of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had in putting together The Legend of Light trilogy didn’t have anything to do with writing, or even the story, itself. Collaborating with my cover artist, Pam Hage, was the kind of work I’ve dreamed of doing since I was a little kid watching behind-the-scenes featurettes on DVD extras for such films like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, seeing how concept art builds the eventual imagery that audiences see.
