Most Anticipated of 2022

Last year was fun, and hopefully 2022 is even better! Some of my picks for this list are just around the corner, and some I’ve been waiting years to finally happen. If all goes right, 2022 will be one great payoff after another. With that said, here is the movie, tv show, video game, comic, novel, and sporting event I’m most looking forward to this new year.

Best of 2021

2021 was still a crazy year when compared to just about any other, but at least life returned to some semblance of normalcy after the tumultuous 2020. Thanks to vaccines, society has been able to safely reconvene on a more frequent basis, getting back to the gatherings and activities that slowed dramatically due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I’m thankful to be vaccinated (and boosted, no less!), and I hope everyone continues to take precautions so that as many of us as possible can stay healthy during this time.

I’m grateful that artists and content creators in all fields were able to get back to their work similar to pre-Covid conditions and entertain us. Heaven knows we all need a distraction once in a while as we navigate a global pandemic. There were a lot of great offerings this year, making a my decision in a few of these categories among the most difficult that I’ve ever made for as long as I’ve done this end of year list.

Most Anticipated of 2021

Whether 2021 sees our world return to some semblance of normalcy, or it remains more of the same from the turbulent 2020, there is still a lot of entertainment I’m looking forward to in the next year. Maybe I still won’t be able to sit down in a movie theater, or go cheer on the Buffalo Bills at Bills Stadium for a game, but I’ll be happy just to have the opportunity to enjoy any of it, no matter how I have to experience it. Here is the movie, tv show, video game, comic book, novel, and sporting event I’m most excited for in 2021.

Best of 2020

Fictional entertainment and pop culture are my life, but I’ve never been more appreciative of them than I was throughout the unprecedented year that was 2020. When there was so much uncertainty and fear with the spread of the Coronavirus that completely changed every day life as we know it, escapism entertainment was a perfect way to unplug and find a little enjoyment. Given how many industries were shut down because of the pandemic, I’m just thankful we got as many releases and events as we did! I’ve done this end of year list naming my favorite movie, television show, video game, comic, novel, and sporting event several times now, but I think this one might go down as the most special to me, as all of these picks went a long way to keeping me positive throughout 2020.

Best of 2019

The new year is here, and I’m a tad late getting this piece out, but there was no way I would miss it altogether. At the end of every year I love to look back on all of the entertainment I took in, naming my favorite production or event of several different mediums. Below you’ll find what my personal favorite movie, novel, television show, comic, video game, and sporting event of 2019.

Best of 2017

2017 was probably the most jammed-pack year that I can remember in the field of entertainment. Across the mediums of film, television, video games, comics, literature, and sports, there were too many significant releases and events to count. No matter where your interests lie, it felt like there was something memorable for you.

I am very thankful that so many of my passions were appropriately catered to last year, to the point where this annual “Favorites” list that I do here on my webpage is easily the hardest I’ve ever had to put together. After a lot of deliberation, I’ve decided on my favorite movie, novel, television show, comic book, video game, and sports event that I experienced last year.
